One Step With You is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the State of California.
One Step With You was inspired by the story of a close friend who entered college with little more than a backpack and a few belongings. In her dorm room, she used her backpack as a pillow, and her hoodie as a blanket. Seeing her struggle to meet basic needs during such a crucial transition opened my eyes to the hidden challenges many students face. I founded One Step With You to create a support system for students like her and ensure they have access to essential resources so they can focus on their education instead of survival. As a high school student myself, I understand the dedication it takes to pursue higher education, and I believe that no one should have to overcome these obstacles alone.
One Step With You's mission is to support financially disadvantaged college students by providing them with the items essential for their transition to higher education through care packages. Each care package is valued at $174.
It's only one small step, but an important one.

How will you get the supplies to the students in need?
We work directly with school counselors or CTE technicians, who identify students in need and distribute the care packages on our behalf.
Do you decide who receives the packages?
No, the school counselors make that decision. Recipients remain anonymous, and counselors have a better understanding of each student's financial and academic situation. We provide the care packages, and they ensure they go to students who need them most.
How do you gather feedback?
After receiving their care packages, students are sent an anonymous Google Form through their school counselor. Their feedback helps us improve our support and services.

Who is your target group?
We support students from low-income backgrounds who are transitioning from high school to a four-year college.
Would you like us to donate anything besides money?
No, monetary donations are preferred. This allows us to purchase the exact materials needed for each student.
Will you use the money for anything besides the student’s care items?
No, 100% of donations go directly toward purchasing care package items for students.
